As Oahu photographers we are privileged to get to be surrounded by some of the best restaurants in Hawaii. Here is a list of our favorite restaurants in Oahu and restaurants we go back to over and over again.
To omit any establishment that serves coconut shrimp from this list would be a mistake. Unsurprisingly, the Tommy Bahama restaurant serves one of the greatest interpretations. The menu features tropical American dishes like blackened mahi mahi tacos, guava baby back ribs, and, of course, the classic yet delicious coconut shrimp that are perfectly crisp-fried. In addition, it's difficult to top the rooftop bar and sand fire pits.
With an emphasis on seafood, Roy Yamaguchi's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine combines robust Asian flavors, European sauces, and fresh local ingredients. A mouthwatering selection of appetizers, entrées, fresh Hawaiian fish dishes, and desserts are available at Roy's. Roy's Waikiki can be found near the intersection of Kalia Road and Lewers Street.
Our chef-driven concept, which is situated in the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort directly on the ocean, is run by award-winning, classically trained chef Peter Merriman. Peter has been a culinary trailblazer in Hawaii for more than two decades, employing an unrivaled inventiveness and a locally-inspired mindset.
Craftsmanship is the foundation of Monkeypod Kitchen. We are committed to perfecting the skill of food, drink, and merrymaking because we think that the highest quality comes from enthusiasm and hard work, whether it be in farming, cooking, brewing, art, or design. We at Monkeypod value and encourage other artisans. We can provide the best Hawaii has to offer by forming alliances with farmers, brewers, and craftspeople that are passionate about the same things we are.
The food is inventive, light, and fresh. The local favorite, Hoku's Ahi Musubi, is still available on the menu. Ingredients include both imported goods and locally farmed, fresh food. Chef Wayne Hirabayashi is the executive chef.
Hoku's is well known for its creative cooking and exceptional service. It has won the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Ilima Award for outstanding dining each year and is well-liked by both locals and tourists. Its Sunday Brunch has received praise from all around the world. Check them out on Facebook.
Hula Restaurant Waikiki offers diners breathtaking views of the beach and ocean from its location at the ocean's edge, overlooking the well-known Waikiki Beach. Open every day for breakfast and dinner and on weekends for lunch. Hula has an amazing happy hour overlooking Canoes surf spot.
Tikis has been a favorite of our families for years. We have went to tikis for birthdays, family visits and graduations. At Tiki's, we combine the cozy, homey ambiance of a restaurant with the informal elegance of fine dining. More than a pleasant greeting or a smile, our Aloha Spirit is a genuine bond we establish with every visitor. You are welcomed with an Always Aloha experience here, where superb food is combined with the coziness and leisure of island hospitality.
