Don't spend a lot of money on snorkel tours. Go to any ABC and you can pick up a mask and snorkel and go to just about any beach. You can see beautiful, colorful fish steps from the beach.

Best food is off the beat and track! Food trucks are some of the best food in Hawaii and very affordable. 

Great beginner surf spots where its very easy to learn to surf. In Hawaii Oahu, Waikiki beach, Ala Moana bowls (next to Hilton Hawaiian Village), and Pua'ena Point in North Shore are easy, fun places to learn!  

Rent a car, skip the tours. Rent a car and get a map, you'll find its easy to navigate through the islands and see all the beauty.

Sometimes the best way to dine on the island is get take out, wine and head to the beach for sunset.
